Archaeological Digging

In Autumn 2021 a team of Heritage Overton volunteers began exploring the archaeology of gardens in use since medieval times. By digging test pits we aim to seek evidence of medieval Overton ‘in the ground’.

What did we do and have we found anything?  View a PDF of Process and Finds by clicking on the image above

We’d like to thank all who have contributed to our digs, from the householders who have offered their gardens, to the pit diggers through to the artefact washers.
